The Curlew
This wall hanging is handmade from copper and enamel.
For some designs, I cut the shapes out then enamel each piece individually, firing them in a kiln at about 800 degrees (c) between three and six times usually. Then I reassemble them and mount them. Others are sheet copper in squares or rectangles that I enamel through stencils that I design and make myself.
The copper sheet is 1.2mm thick. Each wall hanging is unique; because there can be quite a variation in the way the colours come out of the kiln, each one is slightly different from the next.
30x40cm glass fronted, double mounted box frame.
